How to end your job interview
So much planning and preparation goes into your interview, what to wear, researching who you are meeting, preparing competency based answers, collating figures and achievements you can provide, but do you ever think about what to say at the end of your interview as a candidate?
People say first impressions count and they certainly do, however it’s just an important to make sure you leave a lasting impression too.
Our tips below will help show you are a committed candidate for the travel job you have applied for. Hopefully the interviewer will ask you at the end if you have any final questions and if so, here are some to think about if you have not already covered them off:
- Ask the interviewer if there are any questions you answered, that they would like you to go into more detail about. This then gives you the opportunity to elaborate your answer instead of leaving the interviewer wishing they had more information.
- Ask what are the next steps of the process, when will they have concluded their interviews? This will show keenness and you will be able to highlight for instance if the next round of interviews are due when you are unavailable.
- Always thank your interviewer for their time and sharing further details on the company and position.
It’s not hard to remember the above, but can be easy to forget after an hours’ worth of talking or presenting in an interview, so we hope the gentle reminder will come in useful. Now go and be amazing and get your dream job in travel!
